Lots of new apps that have been built in Flutter are released every day. Some of them are simple games, others are projects that people release as a showcase of their skills on the open source platform.

We have compiled a list of five of our favourite releases so far, not in any particular order.

1. Sandwich

This app was made by development company Motion Mobs, to help answer the age old question, what is a sandwich?

On the surface, this is a ridiculous app, and it is. But the interesting part is that the app is using machine learning to continually update its own knowledge of what is and what isn't a sandwich.

You, as a consumer of the app, take a picture of a sandwich, and let the app decide if what you are eating really is the definition of a sandwich.

Yes, it’s kind of stupid and a bit of fun, but the technology behind it, is impressive. The fact that the guys at Motion Mobs are utilizing machine learning to further the apps knowledge of what a sandwich is, is ingenious.

2. You

You is an app created to enable you, the user of various social media platforms, to see what information they are collecting about you and selling to advertisers. Its clean design makes it very attractive, which is an added bonus when trying to keep track of your privacy online.

You can access your phone remotely, being able to ring it via the app, if you were to ever lose it. A good way to keep tabs of what you are putting online, and taking steps to know what to keep private.

A Google play only app at the moment, but hopefully might move to the App Store in time.

3. Earthrise

As environmental activism is a popular topic at the moment, why not use Earthrise, to see where the nearest protest, meet up or discussions are. A very informative app, with good open source contribution, with people registering meet ups and protests themselves. The app even has a chatbot in beta, which you can talk to to help with whatever you need. The good thing with a chatbot, is that the more it is used, the more intelligent it will become.

Supported on both the App Store and Google Play, Earthrise has taken advantage of Flutters simple use and cross platform development.

4. What’s my GPA

Being a student, it can be difficult to track the marks of all your classes and work out your ongoing grade point average effectively to know what level you are working at.

Enter left, What’s my GPA. This app takes the grades that you input from each assignment, and using the frameworks built within the app, and gives you a GPA estimate without you having to work out all the difficult mathematics and let you focus on getting those higher grades.

Boasting over 60,000 users, it is a very useful tool, especially for those at University.

Available on both the App Store and Google Play.

5. Platypus Crypto

Platypus Crypto is an ad-free cross-platform robust solution for tracking cryptocurrency assets. the intuitive interface includes real-time 7-day graphs, current prices and market caps, and percent change over time.
